Cropping and resizing are two different things in a raster image editing. Cropping is a process that eliminates unwanted parts of an image to enhance the composition or fit a specific format, according to Visuals Clipping. Resizing will alter the size of the picture overall, but not necessarily eliminate any portion of the scene. A cropping may change the contents of the picture that will be on the screen; a resizing will change the size of the picture on the screen or in the printout. Knowing the distinction enables users to make proper preparations for images used for websites, social networks, photo albums, and printing.
