Personal Protective Equipment in Construction: Improving Workplace Safety (7 อ่าน)
29 ก.ย. 2569 12:49
Construction sites involve numerous hazards, including falling objects, sharp materials, excessive noise, dust, chemicals, machinery and work at height. Proper safety planning is essential to reduce these risks and protect workers throughout daily operations.Personal protective equipment in construction provides an important layer of protection when hazards cannot be completely eliminated through engineering or administrative controls. Helmets can help protect against impact, safety glasses reduce exposure to flying particles, gloves protect hands during material handling, and safety footwear helps reduce injuries from falling objects and uneven surfaces. Respiratory and hearing protection may also be necessary for specific tasks and environments. However, PPE is most effective when workers receive proper training, equipment is correctly fitted, and regular inspections are carried out. Employers should also review PPE requirements as construction activities change. A well-managed PPE programme supports safer working practices while encouraging workers to take an active role in maintaining workplace safety.
