Coreopsis may be raised from seeds, stem cuttings or division. The flowers dry and seed is easily collected and can be planted the following spring. Perennial Coreopsis can be split every two or three years to keep the plant from becoming crowded and to ensure good growth. Division should be made by separating root clumps carefully in the fresh soil in early spring or early fall. Moist growing media can also be used to successfully root stem cuttings. Propagating can enable gardeners to produce flower beds economically without losing their favorite varieties and with continuous colourful flowering from year to year.
